In Ms. Klemme's biology class students are studying the evidence of evolution. One piece of evidence for evolution is looking at stratigraphic columns of sedimentary rock and analyzing the layers and looking for fossils. The Law of Superposition will allow geologists and paleobiologists to determine relative age of rocks and fossils. Evolutionary biologists can use the fossils to determine how species have changes over time demonstrating evolutionary change. They will also looking at embryology, homologous structures, vestigial structures, amino acid sequences, and biogeography as other pieces of evidence to support their evolutionary claims.
