Thank you for your interest in Dhahran High School, a fully accredited American curriculum school.

ISG Admission Policy

It is the policy of the Board to accommodate students of all nationalities.

 

ISG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EVALUATE EACH APPLICANT TO DETERMINE ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATE PLACEMENT. PREVIOUS SCHOOL RECORDS WILL BE REVIEWED AND CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING GRADE PLACEMENT.

 

New enrollees without previous school records will be placed according to chronological age and/or testing. The school reserves the right to reassign students upon receipt of previous school records and/or test results. The principal or designee shall make the decisions pertaining to grade placement.

Admissions Information

Applications for the 2018-2019 school year opened on 7th of January 2018. Please contact the Admissions Coordinator for details regarding available places.

Admission decisions are always made in the best interests of the student and the existing student population.

We offer places to those students whose experiences and records indicate they will succeed in the school’s academic programs. The school gives priority to applicants who have siblings already enrolled at Dhahran High School, while also considering the school’s gender mix, which helps achieve a diverse student body. Classes are created with the appropriate balance and mixture of learners.

Admission of students with learning difficulties is limited by the availability of services that will meet their educational needs. The Board of Trustees, with the support of the Superintendent, has authorized Dhahran High School to expand learning support programs in order to accept students with mild to moderate learning differences. Your child may be invited to DHS for further assessment. The Learning Support team, alongside the Admissions team, assesses each prospective student on a case by case basis to determine if Dhahran High School is suitable to meet the child’s academic, social and emotional needs.

Timeline of Admissions/ Deadline:

The DHS Admissions Committee continues to accept and review applications as they are completed.

 

Although admissions is not closed, some waiting lists have been started for some grade levels.

Ministry of Education Approval Process:

The MOE approval request must be processed through the Ministry of Education once a student receives an admissions offer from Dhahran High School.  

Saudi law also requires Saudi nationals to apply for an approval directly through the Ministry of Education in Riyadh.  MOE Approval documents must be submitted before enrollment.

 

  1. Aramco transfers: (Not required for US nationals)

Applicants will need to submit:

  • Iqamas, passports, employment letter from the guardian’s company.

  • Form 1

  • Form 2

  • Last year + current year’s transcripts attested by the Ministry of Education in Riyadh.

 

II. Local transfers (School in the Kingdom):

Applicants will need to submit:

  • Iqamas, passports, employment letter from the guardian’s company.

  • Form 1

  • Form 2

  • End of year report card stamped by the school + Leaving certificate +  Noor certificate

 

III. Abroad transfers (School outside the Kingdom):

Applicants will need to submit:

  • Iqamas, passports, employment letter from the guardian’s company.

  • Form 1

  • Form 2

  • End of year report card attested by the Saudi Consulate/Embassy in the country from where the report card/transcript was issued.

NOTE: DHS will not enroll any student before submitting all the MOE approval required  documents.

The Health Inventory and Medical Form

The Health Inventory and Medical Form is a required form that all new students must complete and submit at least two weeks before the first day of school to ensure compliance; otherwise your child's start may be delayed. The Medical Form must be signed and stamped by a medical doctor. Please Note:

The status and listing of uploaded documents in the site dashboard should show you whether or not an application has been created successfully and is complete as per the requirements listed here.

As soon as the admissions team has reviewed the application and documents, the status of the application will be updated and you will receive an email from the school.

Please be patient, as the processing of admissions takes some time. If the application and documents are showing as complete, they have been received and the team is busy with them.

 

2018-2019 ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Step 2 Completion of DHS Application Forms; log in to https://dhs.openapply.com

Step 3 Upon submission of complete application, the Admissions Committee reviews the application and renders a decision.

Step 4 Admissions Coordinator communicates decision to applicant’s family.
